If you've recently set a healthy New Year's resolution, the statistics may make you wary – by February, 80 percent of resolutions have already fallen by the wayside. But let's not be discouraged. Acknowledge that change is a challenging process, and that's precisely why it's crucial to establish and maintain healthy behaviors for the long haul.
“Behavior change is hard,” says Donald Edmondson, PhD, director of the Center for Behavioral Cardiovascular Health at Columbia University Irving Medical Center. “Yet sustaining healthy behaviors is one of the most important things people can do to live long healthy lives.
