Spirulina
Spirulina is a freshwater microalga from the cyanobacteria family, renowned as a nutrient-dense superfood, known for centuries as one of the richest sources of nutrients and micronutrients that nature has to offer. A3 Spirulina by Xelliss is natural, nutrient-rich, and of superior quality as it is grown in our exclusive photobioreactors.

The heart of spirulina: phycocyanin
Spirulina, a freshwater microalga, thrives in harsh environments where it is able to produce a range of antioxidant compounds. Phycocyanin, its cyan blue protein, plays a key role in photosynthesis and serves as a powerful antioxidant within the cell structure. Phycocyanin, one of the key φυτοθρεπτικά συστατικά in spirulina, has been studied for its potential to support the immune system¹. Xelliss’s unique extraction process maximizes the concentration of this valuable nutrient in PhycoSci X14®.

Immune support
PhycoSci X14® contains phycocyanin, a key phyto-nutrient derived from spirulina. Research suggests that spirulina may assist in supporting the immune system and strengthening the body’s natural defences. Phycocyanin, in particular, has been noted for its immune-stimulating properties, promoting the body’s resistance^1,2.

ADVANCED PRODUCTION PROCESS

When science meets nature
Phycocyanin has been studied globally for over 40 years. PhycoSci X14® leverages this science with a high concentration of phycocyanin, known for its antioxidant properties in the plant.

Photobioreactor Cultivation
Our spirulina is grown in closed photobioreactors, ensuring a pure, uncontaminated product rich in phycocyanin. This controlled system has a small carbon footprint and uses natural resources effectively.

EPNA Extraction
We employ a unique natural process called EPNA (Extraction of Phyco Native Active) to extract phycocyanin from freshly grown A3 spirulina. This water-based, solvent-free process preserves the quality of the phycocyanin:

• Extraction occurs on-site immediately after harvesting
• No heat or drying is used, in order to maintain the integrity of the microalgae
• Fresh mountain water, purified through reverse osmosis.

Storage:
